I get it, I get it. Google is still Google... it's just not Google. Right? That makes sense to me right? I'm not questioning anything right now, because everything is just like it was when I woke up this morning.
This is a complete lie, and I apologize for the fact that I've been lying to you since I started writing this. The truth is, Google as we know it has changed forever... until they drastically change Alphabet (the new holding company that Google transformed into) again. However, is this really all that shocking. They are essentially doing what Warren Buffet has done with Berkshire Hathaway. A giant conglomerate with a bunch of different tentacles stretching out to touch whatever they please. Google will simply become the largest company within the Alphabet portfolio as Sundar Pichai now takes over as CEO, and Larry Page and Sergey Brin manage all of their CEO minions from the mother load Alphabet. Here are some more quotes pulled from Alphabet's new website, abc.xyz (not going to lie, almost beats our cool domain).
In short, I'm very excited about this restructuring. It was needed and it makes sense. It will also show investors that Google has matured quite a bit, and has improved its focus. Keep looking out for future announcements when naming CEO's of different companies in the Alphabet family... maybe even stealing some talent from the outside. Either way, we can all look forward to this week being filled with news about Google... I mean Alphabet.
